Description: THE POSITIONAllegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a hard-working, robust, detailed oriented applicants who are able to work with considerable independence and with minimal supervision to conduct oversights and coordination for complex and specialized social service functions for children and adolescents served by DHS. If this describes you, join our team!DESCRIPTION OF WORKWithin this role, you will function as an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist (County Mental Health Program Specialist 1) for the DHS, Office of Behavioral Health (OBH), Bureau of Child and Adolescent Services (BCAS), under the general supervision of the BCAS supervisor. This includes performing your duties as a team member or individually, and in accordance with state regulations and guidelines, as well as county policies. Duties involve monitoring and providing technical assistance to the assigned contracts between Allegheny County and private agencies which provide Early Intervention (EI), State Office of Mental Health, and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS).You will also have the opportunity to provide direct information to the supervisor regarding policy development and programmatic changes for the improvement of EI services (birth-five years). This includes EI direct services, program development, oversight and the auditing of EI programs as well as children/adolescents services who have severe emotional disturbances. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor’s degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
